Task of 'Sense of an Ending' by 'Julian Barnes'

Honorable sir,

Here I’m presenting my views on the novel the’ Sense of an Ending’ which is written by the great writer and translator ‘Julian Barnes’ who won Man Booker Prize for his literature in 2011.He translated his works more than 30 languages.

The style of the writer is ‘Memory Novel ‘or ‘Suspense Thriller’ or ‘Psychological Thriller’ This novel is mainly centered on the characteristics of 21^st century writing. Here, writer take some distance than the writer’ Dan Brown’ of ‘Da Vinci Code’. Dan Brown’s journey is outer journey .while, ’Julian Barnes’ take more step ahead on this journey. As a’ journey within self’. Here, Julian Barnes opens one more layer of the life of human-being.

May be reply  of Veronica ’s  phrase ‘Blood Money’  suggests  her(veronica) mother given 500 pounds to Tony .And, she was given that money in replace of Veronica ‘s heresy on Tony. And, another possibility of this phrase means that without doing the work he got money from his  mother-in-law given him money without doing any work. So, that’s another possibility of the phrase used by Veronica in her mail. And, this dialogue from d text is also near to this truth.

‘Blood money?’

I looked at the words and couldn’t make sense of them. She’d

erased my message and its heading, not signed her reply, and just

answered with a phrase. I had to call up my sent email and read it

through again to work out that grammatically her two words could

only be a reply to my asking why her mother had left me five

hundred pounds. But it didn’t make any sense beyond this. No

blood had been spilt. My pride had been hurt, that was true. But

Veronica was hardly suggesting that her mother was offering

money in exchange for the pain her daughter had caused me, was

she? Or was she?

Here, writer also play one puzzle with d reader by putting out this sum: b=s-v x/+a1 or a2+v+a1 X s=b?.

B=baby(Adrian)

S=Sarah

A=Adrian(Father)

V=veronica

Here, Adrian’s equation suggests his relation with Sarah  mother of Veronica .And, the child grown under them. And, may be that  baby is Adrian(second) abnormal.Tony’s latter here becomes tragedy or curse for d baby of Sarah Ford and Adrian.And,Tony& Adrian both of regrets here. Tony regrets for his letter and Adrian regrets for his relation with d woman whose age is double than her. And. Though he can’t able to reach at the real truth. And, this thing writer makes puzzle for the readers.

Actually, Adrian’s diary is willed to Tony  by Sarah Ford. But, Sarah Ford owned it as Adrian had d relation with Sarah .And, that  diary also possessed by Veronica. Because the  second  abusing word for d Veronica .so, Tony knows very well that, that  diary might read by Veronica. and, in this way she becomes possessor of d diary.

It’s also according to the law of possibility as I before say Adrian had relation with Sarah Ford the woman whose quite double aged. And, with  whom ‘Adrian’ had ‘sexual relation’. May be that regret of Adrian made him poor or weak like dead not a physical one but mental  or psychological death. That also comes in ‘The Swamp Dwellers’ by wole Soyinka. So, it’s possible that Adrian is alive but just because of mental trauma he becomes  ‘Abnormal’ just like his child. And, his that guilty lead him towards ‘Suicide’ either Inner or outer.

Veronica has  also some  relation with Adrian as a boy-girl friend. And, her mother had also illegimate relation with  Adrian. so that thing becomes cause of suffering in d community for d Veronica. so, she has to suffer in d community .

Yes, of course the secrets of diary some page missing just like in proof of Jesus Christ ’s video which was shown by u. In d same way here some pages as a dots which is missing from d diary. May be, that thing is ambiguous for d readers.

Whatever the words given to  manipulative , calculative, stubborn, sacrificial, trustworthy and good samarthian used for her. But, behind any element is responsible for it than it’s  ‘Pshychology’ that I think.

‘Unreliable Narrator’ in simple words  narrator whose not reliable. This term first of all coined by ‘Wayne C. Book’ in his work ‘Rhetoric of Fiction’. Here, narrator considerable as a  remain as a ‘Unreliable’ just because of  memory or  nostalgia. Here, Tony Webster also remain as unreliable.

That’s all some my views about  the novel  ‘sense of an Ending’ .Where, the ‘Sense ’or ‘breath’ ends.
